If you want to create something new, you might find yourself starting
out with a lot of old. The Castel has been in the family for 50 years
now and in about 300 m² one finds a lot of space to store things. A.
Lot.
Our first mission is cleaning. Clearing out the space, liberating the
Castel from its transmissions, liberating ourselves in the process.
When I look at it, I see abundance. It appears that nature has a way
of multiplying. Life is created by the multiplication of cells, the
universe itself is expanding and thus space could be described as
multiplying. In a very strange way, our daily stuff seems to manifold as
well. Sure, not in the same manner than cells do, but it evokes the
idea of natural abundance. How did we end up with all this stuff? We
might ask ourselves. The answer is simple, we have a lot of stuff
because that is how nature operates. To not have stuff, one needs to be
actively destructive. Throw things out, destroy walls, ideas, dreams,
let die. Because, that too is how nature creates. Cells die, leafs rot
and decompose to nourish the soil.
Do we feel the cleaning process as nurturing? Yes, but most of all it
feels liberating. Having space, new space for new ideas, new dreams and,
well, new stuff of cause.
So here is the story of liberty, in pictures.
Ground floor
The ground floor will serve as an entrance. A place to leave your coats, bikes, stuff…
